The east coast of England provides a variety of sandbanks, estuaries, saltings and creeks which are rich in birds and wildlife of all varieties. The rivers we regularly visit include the  Blackwater, Colne, Orwell, (Ipswich and Pin Mill), Stour, Alde, Ore, Deben, Crouch and the sandbanks of the Thames Estuary, plus the varied birding habitats of Orfordness, Mersea Island, Osea Island, Walton Backwaters, and Tollesbury Marshes.

Birdwatching Trips:: Species seen include avocet, redshank, greenshank, egret, bar-tailed godwit, curlew, dunlin, ringed plover, grey plover, common tern, oystercatcher, shelduck, teal, gadwall, cormorant, Brent goose. Birdwatching trips can take place throughout the year with the species seen varying with the changing seasons.

These trips can also be Ideal for artists and photographers wishing to capture the magic of the beautiful east coast landscape and the "big skies", so beloved of Constable, from the water.

All trips are fully catered and comfortable accommodation aboard is offered for longer trips. 

Black Rose is also available for use as a platform for marine conservation, ecology and environmental field studies by university students, research groups and organisations.
